When people come up to you in the middle of the street and ask: what is the first thing you think of when I say the University of Florida? 9/10 people will answer: ChomPics.
And that brings me to: Beth Benge. What do we all really know about Beth Benge? Yes, she’s the ChomPics Executive Producer but what does that mean? Take her name and her position. Beth Benge = ChomPics Praducer. That equation, after several hours of intense examination, is really an anagram for: Game Be Thrones = Punch Dice BPCR.
Game Be Thrones is dangerously close to the hit TV show which is also like books or whatever Game of Thrones. Which brings me to Exhibit A: Beth Benge is really Daenerys Targaryen. Have you ever seen them both in the same room? Me either. And what does that make Sam, Kenny, Jacob, and Nikki? Beth’s three (four) dragons.
Okay, so the ChomPics Producers are really representations of the Targaryen family. Great. Now what? Well, after months spent sitting in the writer’s room, it becomes clear that they are literally incarnations of House Tyrell. Where are the Tyrells from? Highgarden. Where in the seven hells is that? The Reach. What’s the main export of The Reach? Wine. What goes well with wine? Cheese.
Let that sink in for a minute.
Cheese.
So, what does this mean? Why would Delmonte Bent propose a show about cheese? How long has he been working for the Tyrells? Does this make me Margaery? How much money are they paying him? Is "Pressed" really a critique of the Lannister clan aka modern aristocracy aka Obama? Have I been reading too much Game of Thrones lately? Were Miller “big Frenchie” Bradford and I complicit in Bent’s plan when writing our script for episode 3 which critics* have called “stellar” and “totally four thumbs”?
For the answer to all these questions, just tune in to "Pressed," I guess. Or ask me after I finally watch it.
*my mom who has not read the script
